As the owner and founder of Teeny Greeny I am personally committed to working with the right people and companies who align with my own beliefs that we can all take responsibility when making any decision by asking ourselves; is it ethical, has it been fairly traded, is it as local as possible and does it promote regenerative practices..........

Some of our frequently asked questions?
What makes Microgreens so good for me?
Some research has indicated that just being in the general proximity of plants can be beneficial for our mental health. Growing your own greens gives you something tangible to focus on. Growing plants gives you the opportunity to be creative, while also helping to reduce stress. You can involve children in growing these seeds and, as well as them learning where some of their food originates, they can learn about germination and photosynthesis. Children can also learn that plants are essential for life. Plants take in carbon dioxide and water to make food and then make and release oxygen as a by-product.
In addition to the nutrients listed above, each Microgreen has a good source of other nutrients, check out our products to see which seed variety is best for you!
How do I use Microgreens?
Our Seasonal bundles come with recipe cards each season to keep you inspired and you can find more recipes via our social media and by subscribing to our monthly emails.
Can’t I grow a cheaper way than this?
Teeny Greeny offers great value and below is why, however if you are looking to grow your own as cheaply as possible you can grab some non-organic seeds from a large garden centre or supermarket and use some compost you may have at home, feel free to use my FREE tutorials also available to help you 👍🏻
Teeny Greeny as a ‘teeny’ independent business is striving to good by its community and by the planet for a greener future for all. We do this by offering great value, quality hand-made products, sharing our experince and by supporting good causes along the way.
After much research this has led me to find paper packets of seeds where you will get around 50 seeds for about £1 - £3.
Our micrology alone tins come with around 1000 seeds, plus coir, plus instructions, plus wooden spoon, all hand packed into a British manufacture steel tin for £8.95.
Our large kits come with reusable bamboo trays and 3-5 British manufactured tins, containing 6000 seeds in each tin. When operating as an urban farm we would retail our fresh Microgreen Punnets for £3.00 per 30g, based on this the Seasonal refills save you between £50 - £90 and they are much fresher than if you were to buy from a shop!
Isn't it just Cress?
But, cress can be a great place to start, once a sprout grows its first leaves, it becomes a cress. Those first leaves are called cotyledons, and they're different from a plant's 'true' leaves. Microgreens are harvested when they have developed their first set of 'true' leaves.
Our kits offer you the following seed varieties: Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Kale, Rocket, Daikon Radish, Rambo Radish, China Rose Radish, Pak Choi, Tatsoi & Red Mizuna. Depending on the Kit purchased there are 3-5 tins included in each kit.
If you want to learn more about the difference between each varieties please check out our products as it gives you a full breakdown of health benefits each crop can provide you with.
How can I be sure that I will be able to grow Microgreens myself?
What's the best kit for me?
Not to be mistaken for a one-off grow kit, these kits are designed with total sustainability and education at their root, enabling our growing community to keep a constant supply of superfoods at hand in any space they have.
Included are 6 reusable bamboo growing dishes, 12 discs of organic, vegan, peat-free coir alongside 3 varieties of organic Microgreen seeds.
This kit allows you to plant 3 trays of Microgreens each and every week; consistently for a whole month - then all you need to do is replenish the seeds and coir with our seasonal bundles!
By investing in this plastic-free kit, you will be able to reuse the trays, instructions, germination covers and wooden spoons and get the true experience of growing continuously and sustainably.
