Hegemone was the Greek goddess of plants, making them bloom and bear fruit. Her name means “mastery” and Hegemone was the name given to one of the three Graces, autumn, by the Athenians.   Let’s get her on our side when making a wonderful start introducing anyone to new healthy tastes, discover where greens come from and wonder at the magic of photosynthesis.

Microgreens included in our Hegemone goddess set:

Rocket - is especially rich in Vitamin K and calcium, making it a key ingredient for boosting bone health. High in antioxidants, it is also shown to contain isothiocyanate, a substance shown to help protect against cancer.

Broccoli -  is the superhero of the Microgreens world. Teeming with the antioxidant sulforaphane, so much so, that they have 50 times more than their fully-grown adult counterparts. They’re also a fabulous source of dietary fibre and protein, vitamins; A,B,C, E & K, and minerals calcium, iron,  magnesium, zinc, and potassium. Not bad for a Teeny Greeny!

Red Cabbage -  Tiny in size, utterly gargantuan in health and well-being benefits, our red cabbage Microgreens are jam packed with fibre and folate, manganese and magnesium. Then there’s the thiamine, iron, calcium and potassium, not forgetting the riboflavin and vitamin K. For those suffering from disorders such as leaky gut, Coeliac disease, Crohn's disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Ulcerative Colitis, the amino acid L-glutamine in red cabbage has some welcome news – it’s capable of helping to heal the soft tissue that lines your intestines.

Kale - offers a hefty portion of minerals.  This is a leaf that is loaded with goodness. In just one cupful you can enjoy well over the adult recommended daily allowance of vitamins A, C and K, giving significant benefits for both brain and eye health.
